Some Fun Hair Accessories

In entering the world of blogging I've discovered some amazing women out there. I've been inspired to be creative again...something that I haven't done at the level I want since before I had Louie. Let's face it, kids consume our lives and that's OK...we love them! However, there is time for myself at the end of the day, and I was wasting it just watching hours of TV.

So, I'm getting back into the swing of things, and I've found a lot inspiration. Here are two different hair pieces I made with some things I already had lying around.

This one I found at Kitty Cats and Airplanes with a full tutorial. My old house came with some lace curtains that I didn't really like, so I washed them and kept the fabric. This was the perfect little project for it. I glue gunned it to a bobby pin I had lying around as well. I love it!

I then found another tutorial from Rae Gun Ramblings for a headband with black satin flowers. She shows how to make the flowers and put them on a headband. I had a thicker black silk headband that I haven't worn in forever, so I used that and the spool of ribbon I bought for wrapping the wedding bouquets I did last year (I'll have to post that soon). I think it looks pretty good, wish the flowers were more on the side of my head...oh well...I still love the black satin!

I now have some fun new accessories and it didn't cost me anything!! Hurray!

Oh, and thanks to my Mom for cutting my bangs so nice...love them!! :)
