Walgreens Trip 5/3

I'm trying to jump back into this couponing thing in a major way! This week at Walgreens was a great week to do so. I did an exhausting 4 different transactions (with both the boys!!) in order to maximize all the register rewards I was getting and to pay less out of pocket. I also went back later in the evening for a 5th transaction...I know I'm crazy. However, half the reason I went back out was to pick up the free Right Guard body wash but they were out so I got a rain check to be sure and get 4 free next week. :)

The coupon matchups are here at Couponing for 4, I will not be breaking down my 5 crazy transactions but here is a list of what I got, and a picture of only some of it.

2 Bic Soleil 4 pack Razors ($0.99 each after coupon and RR)
4 Cottonelle 12 packs ($2 each after coupon and RR)
1 Gillette Fusion Power Razor ($0.99 after coupon and RR)
3 Austin Crackers 8 packs ($1 each)
2 Toy Story Sippy Cup 3 packs ($4 each)
3 3M Transparent Tapes ($0.39 each after Walgreens coupon)
1 Hershey Kit Kat Bar ($0.69 each)
1 Noxema 4 Pack Razors ($1 moneymaker after coupon and RR)
1 Tylenol Precise Muscle Cream (Free w/ coupon stack)
1 Tylenol Precise Heat Pack 4 pack (Free w/ coupon stack)
1 Skinny Cow Bar ($0.60)

I spent $33.88 for $100.35 worth of items...67% savings. Not bad considering the Sippy cups and crackers that I just happened to need and used as filler items for all my coupons. I'm so excited for the razors, I always buy cheap ones so it is great to get these really nice razors for super cheap!

These deals end Saturday night, the link will also have the matchups for the deals starting Sunday...happy shopping!

Even When I'm Sick...

On the way to my niece's birthday party yesterday (where I gave her this hand bag), Louie had a circumstance that needed my attention in the car. I have received the wonderfully annoying gift of motion sickness from my mom, however not nearly as bad as she has it. Generally, I don't get sick, but when trying to do something in the car while we are moving (and in this case getting on the highway), I get extremely nauseous. So the whole way to my niece's I was just trying to breath and cracked the window for the cold air. Once we got off the highway, my mother-in-law who was driving stopped so I could run into Walgreens and get a Sprite to calm my stomach and run to the bathroom.

Well, even when I'm sick I can't resist a good deal. At the register, they had several Right Guard body washes for $3.99 and you got $3 Register Rewards back. To make this deal even better, there was a $1 coupon peelie right on the bottle...making this FREE after RR!! That, the sprite, and being out of the car in fresh air for a few minutes made me feel so much better! :)

How to Score Cheap Meat at Target

This morning I was able to run out and pick up some stuff at Target. Here are some of the things I got:

What I got:
2 Reach Floss=Free
2 Wish-bone Spritzers=$1.25
1 loaf of white bread=$0.30
1.5 chicken drumsicks=$1.99
2 Scoch-Brite Scrubbers=$1.99
2 Green Works Toilet Cleaner=$1.68
1 Green Works Dish Liquid=$2.09
1 lb Beef Stew Meat=$1.85
2 18ct Stayfree pads=$2.29
1 23ct Up Diapers=$6.29

Spent=$21.81 with tax
Saved=$19.47

Now this wasn't my best shopping trip, especially because there were some items that they didn't let me use coupons on that I ended up not getting that would have been less than $0.50 (Target's coupon policy varies by cashier apparently...UGH!). My big score, however, was the meat.

Gold 'N Plump Chicken had a coupon for $1 off, which I was able to use on  drumsticks I found for $2.99, making them $1.99, and these are locally grown! However, sometimes (I believe at the end of the week) Target will add sticker coupons for $1-$3 off for meat that is about to expire - you can either use it immediately or freeze it! Today I found the Sutton and Dodge beef stew meat for $3.85 with a $1 off sticker and combined it with the $1 off Target coupon so I got a little more than 1 lb for $1.85! So print your coupons and see what kind of deals you can score!

Meal Deal of the Week 1/16

Pot roast is one my favorite things to make, especially in the winter! I love the smell, the ease of letting it sit all day, and its deliciousness! This week at Jewel Beef Chuck Bottomless Roast and Hormel Always Tender Center Pork Roast is on sale for $3.99/lb, which is not the cheapest ever...but when you buy 3 lbs of either, you get Farm Stand Carrots, Sleeved Celery, and a 3lb bag of Green Giant Klondike Rose Potatoes for FREE!  Check out Couponing For 4 for the rest of the Jewel deals right now!

Usually we eat about 2lbs for dinner and get leftovers (for two adults and 2 small kids). So 3 lbs should get 2-3 dinners out of it with all the leftovers!! My mother-in-law taught me how to prepare it and I sort of improvised from there! Here's how I do it:

Ingredients:
1-1.5lbs beef or pork roast
2-3 chopped carrots
3-4 chopped potatoes
1-2 celery stalk
2 cloves of garlic chopped
Seasoned salt
Oregano
Pepper
3 tablespoons vinegar
1 bay leaf (optional)
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
1/4-1/2 cup of water

Directions:

1.Place the roast in bottom of crock pot
2. Pour water over roast.
2. Sprinkle vinegar over roast (helps tenderize the meat)
3. Season meat with seasoned salt, oregano, pepper (to your liking)
4. Place chopped garlic over roast
5. Poor chopped veggies over roast
6. Season veggies and sprinkle with Olive Oil
7. Set crock pot to low and cook for 6 hours or more

Enjoy!

Extra 40% off Clearance Clothes and Shoes at Babies R Us

Thanks to Money Saving Mom, I got this coupon for a free tote bag and an extra 40% off clearance clothes and shoes that you can fit in the bag. There was A LOT of stuff on clearance, including a bunch of long sleeve graphic onesies and flannel shirts for $4.50. I didn't need a lot of stuff because the boys have plenty of clothes, however the zipper on Louie's jacket broke so I wanted to get him a new one for the rest of the season and then to save for Leo in a couple years.

I got one that was really nice for only $10!! I also picked up a couple pairs of flip flops that were only $1.20 and leg warmers (not pictured, but so cute...I want a girl one day!) that I'll give to my niece for $1. It's worth checking out if you need some stuff!

I love the coat on Louie :)

3-Pack Extension Cords for $0.87!

Yesterday I got to get out by myself for a few hours and got some amazing deals! I'll post the other deals seperately...but let's talk Target first.

Remember when I told you all about my After Christmas Traditions, like waiting until things are 90% off? Well Target is finally there! I'll be honest, there is not a ton of different options left, but the stuff they did have left, they had a lot of!

I got 3-packs of white extension cords for $0.87, really cute ornament hooks for $0.39, and really pretty
stockings with embroidered initials (I can't believe I found ALL of our initials-JACKPOT) for $1.30 each. Yep, everything was 90% off!!! There were a few other styles of stockings some only $0.60 and regular ornament hooks for $0.10! (Items may be different a different locations)

So if you need any of these things make sure you get out to Target before they are all gone! Happy Shopping!

This is what I'm most excited about - $13 originally!

Coffee-Mate Creamer $0.04-$0.79 at Target

So I ran out of coffee creamer today, which is crazy because I've had free creamers stocked up for the last three months! :)

Luckily, Coffee-mate has a new printable coupon for $1 off and Target has it regularly priced at $1.79!

(If you are new to printing coupons, know that you can press the back button three times on your browser after printing to get 2...and that's 2 per computer, so if you've got 2 computers...that's 4 coupons! This goes for all printable coupons.)

Also, as I mentioned before there are some holiday flavors on sale right now as low as $1.04, and may be lower now as the week goes on!

Happy saving...enjoy!

$25 Gift Certificates for $2

I recently discovered Restaurant.com where you can purchase gift certificates at a discounted price for hundreds of restaurants. For instance, usually they have $25 gift certificate for $10! However, recently they have had a coupon code (CLEARANCE) for 80% off making them $2 for a $25 gift certificate!! I purchased several of these and love the savings. They file all the gift certificates on your account for easy printing whenever you need them as well! (Make sure you read the fine print though, some have restrictions about dining in and days or hours that you cannot use it.)

Plus, they currently have a deal where if you purchase 5 $25 gift certificates (a $10 total) for participating restaurants, you can get a $25 Restaurant.com eGift Card!!

Offer ends Friday, December 31, so if you are interested, grab them now while they are really cheap!

After Christmas Traditions

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed time with friends and family. We were very blessed this year thanks to our wonderful family. While running around to 4 houses in 2 days is exhausting with 2 little ones, we very much enjoyed the time we had with all of them.

Now that Christmas is over, there are a few things I like to do; stock up on supplies and decorations for next year, enjoy clearance holiday treats, and organize all of the new stuff we got.

Stocking up For Next Year:

Basically every store has their holiday decor and wrapping supplies 50% off, which is a great deal, however in the next few weeks, the stuff that's left will drop down even more. I remember 3 years ago when I went to Hobby Lobby a few weeks after Christmas and bought dozens of small gift bags that were marked down to $0.10! I used some this year and got many positive comments!

Another way I stock up is saving gift bags, boxes, and baskets that we received gifts in. My mom and grandma always have the best baskets that they give goodies in. These are not only good for Christmas but to save for a birthday or baby shower gift basket as well.

Clearance Holiday Treats:

I went to Target today and they have all of their holiday treats on sale, mostly 50% off, so if you don't mind eating holiday themed treats in January, this is a good way to stock up on some cheap cookies, brownies, or candy. If you enjoy flavored coffee, they have a lot of holiday flavored liquid creamers for $1.00-$1.50 also at Target. Click here for $0.75 off 1 or $1 off 3 Coffee Mate creamer coupons for a great deal!

Organizing:

Many places also have deals right now on home storage solutions and now is the time for them as we find storage space for the kids new toys and put away our Christmas decor, Walmart has a 20-gallon Latch Tote for $5.92 this week! I personally am going to be purchasing some wire shelves and plastic totes for the basement. Let's also not forget to donate our old stuff instead of just throwing it away!
